Mitch is a 3rd generation Land
Surveyor and a native to our region. With over twenty-five years in the
surveying industry, he brings a wealth of local and broad-based
knowledge to Axis.
Formerly with another
eastside firm since 1981,
Mitch has experience in all aspects of the surveying and land
development industry. He specializes in Geodesy and leads our
GPS efforts for long distance and local survey control. As a
former schoolteacher and educator, Mitch likes to apply his
knowledge of surveying technology, staff training and
construction practices to help client’s projects
succeed—regardless of size, scope or duration. As our
president, he’ll work hard to understand your project and
timeframes.

With almost ten years of experience in the
land surveying industry Allen brings a broad base of experience
to Axis. He is experienced working with numerous
jurisdictions, accommodating a breadth of local requirements.
Allen has met the challenges of a wide spectrum of
projects, such as large plats, short plats, condominium surveys,
boundary line adjustments, binding site plans, unit lot
subdivisions, as well as construction, topographic and
residential surveys.

Toivo is a second generation surveyor with
over twenty years experience of field and office duties. He has
become an excellent Survey CAD technician as well. The last
ten
years he worked under registered professional land surveyors (up
to eight) for one of the largest Land Development firms in the state
preparing for signature: Final Plats, ALTA’s, Record of Surveys,
Boundary Line Adjustments and Agreements, Topographic surveys
and most recently full color, orthophoto LIDAR imagery for
project feasibility studies.
With a quick look at his recent work, it
becomes evident that Toivo has created his own niche in the
market for getting land use projects up and going based upon
these maps. He also enjoys golfing, skiing, fishing and camping
with family and friends.

Steven is a
Northwest native with over 17 years experience as a field surveyor,
including all aspects of construction surveying from residential to
commercial.
He also functions as the in-house IT manager, building and
maintaining the company computer network.

With seven years of experience in
fieldwork, Daniel continues to build his skills as a land
surveyor. Starting as a chainman for a large Eastside land
development company he is currently a party chief at Axis.
Through hard work and a thirst for knowledge, Dan has gained
skills in topographic mapping, boundary surveys, ALTA’s,
subsidence and construction monitoring, as well as construction staking for
large plats.
An Eagle Scout and lifetime resident of
Western Washington, Daniel enjoys the many outdoor opportunities
the Pacific Northwest has to offer, including boating, backpacking,
snowboarding and fishing.

Washington State continue to grow, I am excited to be a part of
this fast paced and evolving profession that reflects the nature

August Pitcher
came directly to the Land Survey field from the United States
Marine Corps. While serving more than eight years in the military,
he became skilled at shore mapping for reconnaissance missions.
In 2001 August brought his knowledge to the Land Survey
industry.
For the last five years working as a land surveyor
for another eastside firm, he has increased his skill and knowledge of
the trade, from walking line to the beginnings of drafting.
With five strong years of experience in the field, August
Pitcher brings an undeniable motivating presence to the Axis
team.
“Throughout my
childhood and time in the Marines, I was always interested in
exactly how the land affects the way people work, live and react
to their surroundings. I’m fascinated almost daily by this
process of mapping and marking the land!”

Bruce Bailey, PLS
Starting with
another local surveying firm in 1987 and quickly becoming a lead surveyor, Bruce succeeds
in producing outstanding traditional boundary surveys even when
challenged with the frenetic pace of the commercial construction
industry.

Shon Knox, PLS
While Shon is a
native of eastern New Mexico the lure of the Pacific Northwest has found
him spending the last seven years surveying for another local company. He comes to Axis with almost a decade of field and drafting
experience, allowing him to take a project from field to finish. Shon’s
experience ranges from residential boundary surveys to high end,
commercial construction layout.
